Smith Development's Story
In 2004, Gary L. Smith launched Smith Development when he took on his first renovation project—an apartment being flipped into a condo. Gary has grown the business with the idea that a builder should be more than honest. At Smith Development, we believe what we do and how we do it is an exact representation of who we are. That's why our name is a central part of our company name. When you put your trust in Smith Development, we realize you are putting your trust in us, and we take that responsibility very seriously.
Gary graduated from Grand Valley State University with a BBA in Business/Finance. He has a passion for residential design and new home construction and has designed and built award winning custom homes throughout West Michigan. Gary enjoys being on the jobsite providing construction management and putting his talents to good use working side by side with the crews. Having your builder onsite gives you reassurance that you are getting the quality and outcome you expect. Gary has earned a reputation for professionalism, outstanding character and true integrity unmatched in the custom home building industry.
